Re: New Year's Resolution
Yes I did, finished Tuesday 14 February. 10 days. Had a collapsed LH rear wheel bearing. Got an RAC recovery lift from 60 K’s West of Laverton to Kal. Waited 1 day for a front sprocket. Took the sage advice from you and others and minimized the risk by staying on main(ish) roads. I’ve posted on Face...

Re: New Year's Resolution
I haven’t read the whole book, just brief bits. Will read more on the coming days….or wait for the movie. Sounds like a great trip again. Thank you for sharing.

Nice one, good to see Chris out and about and the capabilities of the Ural in an environment I know well.

Hi John
I hope you work in few days to come and visit on the Sunshine Coast. You will get the Grand Hinterland tour as well! Your choice of GS650 or DR650 or Honda 125.

Re: So much to do; so little time!
Look's like a great trip in that remote part. Track went into the Kiwwirrkurra community and then back for ~47km's? May be getting fuel for someone that has run out, permit issue, community closed or road issues? Looks like a bush camp off the road at that spot.

Steve, are you still coming over? Let me know what your dates are if you want to catch up for a ride in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland.

Re: BMW R 1150 R
Hi Robin Thank you for the advice. I know your bike and have mentioned it to several people, including the Yamaha salesman where I bought this one. They got it as a trade in and clearly didn't do any research. Yes, I got lucky with this one.....clean living, as my dad would say. I think my K's are u...

Re: BMW R 1150 R
Thank Goldy, appreciate you comments. I did travel to Brissy and back this week for three days and enjoyed the bike. Will get bar risers that also move the handlebars back a bit, a larger screen and maybe lower pegs but apart from that it is nice. Have already got a 52L top box and it came with spot...

BMW R 1150 R
Hi I bought 2005 R1150 R this week to "supplement" [read 1987 K75 needs major attention] as I ride about 500-800 km's every week. The bike has only 29k km's on. Any comments about the good, the bad & the ugly please.... Wasn't really in the market but I need a reliable and safe bike we...

Re: Lane Filtering in WA
In Queensland the rules are much the same except you are allowed to filter on freeways where the usual speed limit is 90 kph or above. In this instance you are allowed to use the emergency lane, but still limited to below 30 kph. The emergency lane rule was recently relaxed to included if there is r...

He was also a journalist in the Anglo-Boer war in South Africa. I recently read some of his extensive and detailed dispatches in a two volume biography. Fascinating as my grandfather was in a concentration camp some of that time, he was 9-11 years old during the war. My great grandfather was a comma...

1999 R850 R - feedback wanted
Hi Looking at a 1999 R850 R [82k km's] this arvo. Any one with feedback or comments regarding the bike - issues, positives. The K75 list of "to fix" remains at about 10 -15 items, week after week [1987; ~105k km's]. I still do 500-800 km per week on the K and it is a great bike, does many ...
