I cut 6mm of each end of the adjusting threaded rod, that gave me the the room for my limited movement left foot.

It's looking like a early July ride to the cape at this stage.
She who must be obeyed has planned a caravan trip to Carnarvon in June. As soon as that is done I'm free.

Anyone up for a short easy ride cape to cape and back somtime between mid May and end of July (Dry season). This is dependent on Covid restrictions.
