Came home from having a weekend off in Albany and stopped at the Kirup pie store today, sign on the door, "Closing January 31st"
Had my last peppered steak pie there, and ambled off....
Shame really, top pies! I know others on here thought so too. Just lucky for me I got in on the last day.

Re: Kirup
Your kidding ! The Kirrup store has closed down ? We often camp and ride (dirt bikes) at Grimwade, (for those that don't know, it's an abandoned townsite, about 20km out of Kirrup, with a couple of nice dams etc, and if there are no wankers on unsilenced pit bikes there, some nice peaceful camping sites, and great riding, including a couple of club enduro loops).
I'm going to miss the store, it was part of a tradition ! . . . . and the pies WERE awesome.

Re: Kirup
Yes, sadly. The sign on the door stated the closure and thanx for all the support. I overheard one of the ladies mentioning to another shocked customer they just weren't getting the flow through traffic anymore.
But the pie was awesome.....
Having said that, I had a pastie at the bakery in Denmark about three hours earlier that was damn nice too, it's cooler and further but worth it for an overnighter....
I need to find a new favorite bakery, that's way closer!

From memory, it's Beachworth Bakery (or maybe Beechworth?). It's a two-story place in the main drag down towards the caravan park end.Bry wrote:Used to live in Wycheproof nearby, and I spent a lot of time looking for cod and finding carp there in Echuca! Can't remember a pie shop of note though....
Just looked it up: Beachworth, 513 High Street, Echuca.
Disclaimer: We were there, in a group of about 12, in mid-winter, freezing cold and raining, and the rum and cokes I'd had ... purely for medicinal and warming purposes ... might have clouded my judgment.
