We exited the Stock Route at Well 9 and went thru Glenayle Station to arrive at Wiluna earlier today (Sunday). We are currently at Sandstone and expect to arrive in Perth Monday (8 July) evening.

Sad story for the Dmax
You could get a used axle from a wrecker and fit that to get the Dmax out of there.
Unbolt tail shaft, axle mounts and brake lines and then fit the used unit and bleed brakes.
Depends how committed they are to keeping the vehicle or writing it off.

Wow, it's the good and the bad of a trip which turns it into an adventure. Although snapping an axle is a bit worse than bad.

The best possible outcome for the Dmax, all worked out well.
RE. the kangaroo tail, my step 5 would have been to throw the tail away and eat the hot coals lol. Although it didn't look bad once cooked.
