Obviously the Lock Down we're subjected to has given me too much time to think.
However, given that we can't go out to play, the period of the vehicle licence (Rego) I've paid for continues to tick by.
Normally, I'm not one for complaining (!), but having paid my (exorbitant) tax for a licence to use the road and subscribe to the State's Motor injury insurance fund when there is no use or risk, has me inclined to consider this situation unfair.
Can anyone tell me how I go about seeking a refund for the period of confinement please?
Alternatively, can someone point me to conclusive evidence that I will not be contravening any Statute by going for a leisure ride, on my own, while not straying into the proscribed areas?

Some people are like Slinkys, you can't help smiling when you push them downstairs.

Some countries allow for seasonal registration of vehicles. It may be a precedent that you an use to argue for pandemic concessions.
There are still motorcycles on the road that are travelling for essential reasons to:
1) Fill up with fresh fuel as the fuel in the tank was at risk of going stale
2) Keep tyres round. Parking for long periods of heavy BMWs may deform a tyre.
3) Circulate oil in the drive shaft to stop it corroding
4) Purchase fruit from roadside stalls in the hills
5) Return home after getting lost on the way to the local supermarket
6) Searching for PPE and hand sanitiser
7) Having pre-booked a 30,000km service before restrictions and only having 28,000km on the clock
Riding to a parking area to walk another section of the Bibbulmun Track as part of your exercise regime
9) Undertake a wildlife count
10) Polish the ball bearings

Re: Just Sayin'
You are allow to travel to the beach for exercise
I am not aware that they have specified it must be the closest one.
So what if you change your mind and return home before getting to the beach.
Put a towel in your pannier
It was on the news that they turned back 12 motorcycles attempting to ride to York by crossing a regional border
Nothing reported that the ride was in against the current guide lines.

Re: Just Sayin'
My understanding is that although the authorities are asking and wanting people to stay home, it is not against any law, rule or regulation to travel around in your designated zones.
I have been on a couple rides recently within our limited borders without any hassle from the police.
I will say though that the only time I had any contact with another person was at my fuel station when I returned from my ride and I wore my gloves whilst refueling thus avoiding contamination with or from other people.
People are more at risk of the virus by going shopping or to work then anyone going for a ride on their bike or from driving their cars around with their family on board, unless of course you stop on the way for food or a coffee as that's when you put yourself and others at risk!!
We are not in complete lock down folks
But for the best part of this crisis I have taken the governments advice and avoided leaving my home unless it was really necessary apart from my daily walk and my couple of rides on my bike to warm the oil and to clear the cobwebs from my mind after doing copious hours in front of a computer writing my story!!
Just Saying!!
Regards to all and stay safe guys and girls

"I love a sunburnt country, a land of sweeping plains.
Of rugged mountain ranges, of droughts and flooding rains.
I love her far horizons, I love her jeweled sea.
Her beauty and her terror, the wide brown land for me."

Fortunately we were born in an era that a thing called commonsense prevailed. Good time to put commonsense to work.
