Well done Steve.

I got some inspiration and rode from Perth to Leighton and back yesterday. Not quite the same, but I do have the "Relive" video that makes me feel good.

Do you ever revisit your posts? I am certain they would generally bring back great memories?

Actually, I do. It often reminds me of the many places I’ve been and the hardship involved. Cycle touring is a tough game…but for some reason, I do enjoy the challenge(s).
It all started with a ride to the shops….next thing you know you’re touring the World!

Yes, it is good to see where the previous journeys took us.

My ride started with my Dad selling his golf clubs to buy my bike. It was then a mater of getting pushed up and down the street until I got going. Great memories and terrific life skills.

Fall off, get back on.

There are a few more places on the list. I will join a few dots and see where it ends up.

I haven’t read the whole book, just brief bits. Will read more on the coming days….or wait for the movie. Sounds like a great trip again. Thank you for sharing.

The vid(s) will start rolling out in a week or two. Did you ever do the GCR to WA or is that still a work in progress?

Yes I did, finished Tuesday 14 February. 10 days. Had a collapsed LH rear wheel bearing. Got an RAC recovery lift from 60 K’s West of Laverton to Kal. Waited 1 day for a front sprocket.

Took the sage advice from you and others and minimized the risk by staying on main(ish) roads.

I’ve posted on Facebook in Adventure Bike Riders Australia. Tried to copy the link without luck.

Hello Slackers,

After a 3 year hiatus due to Covid, it’s time to head overseas again and Cycle Tour another far off land. This time it’s the Philippines. Join me as I explore some of the Islands in the Visayas Region of the Philippines starting and finishing in Cebu. The trip is challenging, energy draining and even involves a crash causing me to break a couple of ribs which, although slowed me down, failed to deter me from finishing what I started.

Grab ya gear; Lets Go!

Another ripper Steve.

I would have said, “Don’t worry about kidnapping… unless they realise you’re that Mongrel Dog bloke, and they think you’re rich!” No problem with that though because you’re on a pushy- unless of course the kidnappers are 12year olds and they like your bike.

What make is the trailer Steve?

Thanks Steve, that was a good way to spend half an hour or so of my life.

Great trailer…done about 20,000km over the years in several counties and in some very harsh conditions here in Oz. No longer manufactured but I’m sure there would be some available in the second hand market. Best investment I’ve ever made.

Thanks Steve.

Apparently one of the kids tells me they may have found something.

Fingers crossed.

Looking forward to the next part of the trip. I suspect you didn’t get kidnapped, but who knows with these Mongrel Dog movies. I would love to see the escape if you were…

I’m happy to loan you the trailer if you want to do a road test…

Hello Slackers,

In this Vid, I continue making my way from one Island to the other in the search of the Perfect Beach in order to rest my broken body and work on my tan. The constant threat of rain disrupts my daily routine and makes for unpleasant riding conditions.

Grab ya gear; Lets Go!

See you on the other side.

your videos and commentary are most appreciated. interesting scenery but probably way too much rain to truly appreciate it.
I do hope your kidneys are ok, your kidney pain does not sound very pleasant at all. looking forward to your next video.

Hi Folks,
The saga continues...
In this Vid I continue my search for the perfect white sandy beach and hop from one Island to another. I holiday in the Mango Capital of the Philippines, Guimaras Island, and savour one the Island’s specialties….a Mango Pizza! I climb the highest vantage point on the Island to ‘find myself’. It didn’t work. I end up crashing breaking a rib (or two) which could have ended very seriously.
Grab ya gear; Lets go!
