naXsaX - want to try em!

Post by jono »

naXsaX are all weather, protective motorcycle pants.
These pants are new to the market and as part of their advertising program the company has sent our club 2 pairs (one large and one medium) free of charge to view and then distribute as we deem appropriate.

The pants offer full length zips to make putting them on over your normal riding pants easy. There is some back support built in, knee extensions to cope with armor, riding pants and knee extension when seated. In short they look pretty good!

As announced at the clubs March General Meeting the committee would like to invite any members interested in evaluating this new product to put forward their name and preferred size. You can do this by replying to this thread. At the next club general meeting in April we will then draw 2 names from the list collected to determine who will receive the naXsaX for evaluation and get to keep them!
That's right they'll be yours to keep, but there is a catch!
The lucky persons selected to evaluate these pants, and I use the term evaluate for a reason, will be expected to make extensive use of them over the coming winter (hopefully a wet one) after which they will be asked to deliver their evaluation to the club members at the June or July GM and to present a written evaluation to the committee to be forwarded on to the suppliers of the pants in return for their kind consideration of our club. With this in mind we ask that you only put your name down if you are confident of being able to make good and frequent use of these pants over the next few months.

Right then if you are interested submit a short reply with name and preferred size (L or M)

I will be riding through the eastern states May June so no doubt will be bumping in to wet weather occasionally, size large.

I'll put my hat in the ring for a medium set, as I destroyed my w/p pants during my little off last year, and plan to undertake several weekend trips this winter.

Ok folks sorry for the delay in allocating these items!

Only 4 people expressed interest, 2 for the Large and 2 for the Medium. I allocated each a number and then used a random number generator in lieu of a raffle style draw to decide who gets each set. It worked out to be the first applicant for each size. So Bowe and Jane get to try out the naXsaX. If either of you determine they don't fit/suit your needs or you won't have the opportunity to evaluate them then please pass them on to the next person in line i.e. Steve (L) and Graeme (M)

Now I just need to catch up with you both to pass them on. I will send you each an email to arrange

looks like good stuff. Any good comments or feedback regarding the product? I'd like to drill to specifics. It's waterproof - what else?

A few words on the naXsaX waterproof pants, firstly thankyou to the club for being the lucky one to try them out.
I couldn't get to the July meeting to talk about them as per Jono's plan, so here are my comments.
I recently did about 18000k's on the GSA around Oz (didn't quite finish, the last 2500k's on the back of a truck!)
I wore these waterproofs for most of the first 3 weeks or about 7000k's for two reasons , firstly wet weather, secondly cold weather or both.
I wear Rally 3 BMW protective jacket / pants which zip together across the lower back, these have a removable waterproof inner lining, the naXsaX have to be worn on the outside of this outfit so in steady rain water will seep off the jacket and down inside the naXsaX pants. This seems to be the only drawback if you wear protective gear similar to mine.
Apart from this issue I did not have any problem keeping dry, I did not ride in heavy rain, they also were handy on the cold mornings, they seem to be robust, no tearing or zipper problems although some of the inner surface on the legs was scraping off on the metal fasteners on my boots.
The best feature was the full length zippers on the legs and the big velcro kidney belt and fly, after a couple of times wearing them, you got the knack and they were easy to fit up and remove.
I will be using these in preference to the Rally 3 setup.
I am wondering when the jacket is coming along!!
Don't know what they cost, I seem to remember less than $100, which I think is great value at this price.
