SPOT Exchange Program

Post by Davey_sprockeT »

Hi every one.........if you have a SPOT 2, you will want to go here:
http://findmespot.com/exchange/

Update: September 27, 2010 so you may already be aware of this

SPOT LLC is conducting a product return on SPOT Satellite GPS Messengers (SPOT 2) with an ESN number equal to or between 0-8000000 and 0-8053925. During continuous testing, we discovered that some of these SPOT 2 devices may not meet battery and messaging operating specifications. SPOT LLC is dedicated to providing the highest quality and best performance products to our customers.

If your SPOT 2 unit falls within this range, it will need to be returned for replacement. Please complete the Product Return Form below as soon as possible, as the affected SPOT Messenger unit may not function according to specifications.

Thanks for the heads-up D-S.

Whilst on the subject of Spot... don't rely on the soft pouch included in the box for anything more than your belt. I packed my Spot on my soft luggage on the tail of the bike because Spot say not to mount close to a GPS... which is mounted on my bars. I passed some webbing thru the soft pouch loop... not a good idea as I found out in the middle of nowhere WA.

So when I got back, I bought one of these which has neat little tie down loops...

And the Spot fits in snug with the Pelican foam. It doesn't rattle around.
