The position of Technical Officer remains vacant since the AGM in July.
In recent years the Technical Officer (previously Spares Officer) has hosted the monthly Tuning Days and the role has fortunately been held by people also able to offer technical and mechanical advice. In my time with the club this has been Bill Emery, Mike Henderson and Graeme Jamieson.
I have hosted the August and September Tuning Days at my place in Carine as a temporary measure to keep things going. Whilst they are enjoyable afternoons, with my other Club commitments, I cannot continue to do this indefinitely.
The October Tuning Day will be the last one I host and will be the last Tuning Day until someone else volunteers to take over.
The main thing we need is a host and a venue, BMW specific technical ability is nice to have to but not essential.
If you can help, please put your hand up and preferably come along to the Monthly Meeting on 13th October to resolve this important vacancy in our Club.
thank you
Peter Booth

Re: Technical Officer and Tuning Days
I am prepared to fill this role but would not be able to commence until January 2009 because of work and other commitments. I intend to work from Perth next year, rather than everywhere except Perth as is the case now.
I have a 7.5m x 6m garage attached to my home, c/w bike lift, workbench, MIG welder, assorted electrical tools and a reasonable selection of hand tools; although my technical knowledge of BMW motorcycles leaves a bit to be desired. I am located mid way between Perth CBD and the Airport, so a fairly central location. I also have a BBQ and could put in a beer fridge if the need arises.
Pete, I will not be able to attend the October and or November meetings, so if you dont mind mentioning at the October meeting that I am prepared to take on this role as from January, it would be appreciated.
Cheers

Re: Technical Officer and Tuning Days
Noted thanks Pete. I will be in contact prior to January (and back in Perth before then also) and will obtain all of the details associated with the role then. Cheers.
