New Club Website?

Post by jono »

BMWMCCWA Club members take a look at this test site
http://bmwmccwa.wildapricot.org

** Club Members can now renew their Subs via the New Website using PayPal and receive immediate confirmation of renewal **

In addition to what you will see this site has a private members only section that is only available to current financial members. Therein is a members forum, members contact directory etc. If you are a current club member I can send you a login for this site so you can have a better look

This site automates the management of the membership register and the organization of event registrations. Let me know what you think and any ideas or suggestions you might like to see incorporated.

Post your suggestions here and PM me for a login to the members section

The committee will be considering this as a replacement for our current site so your feedback will be of value to them

Cheers

Looks good Jono. Gallery would be good or will we still have. A constraint on space?

Thanks for the effort in mocking this up.

Hi Koos
Thanks for the feedback, there is a gallery in the members section as well as personal gallery's under each members profile. Th system resizes the photos and uploads them to the site. The administrator can set space limitations for members so we don't overstore, there is 400mb available.

Cheers

I think a gallery for the public to access has benefits in that people interested in joining can see photos of rides and events. I like visiting some other clubs websites and while not a member, can enjoy the photos of their rides, skills days etc.

Good stuff Jono,
I agree with Koos. Looking like it's going to be a belter !

As per yesterday, if we could have a file archive of trips, rides etc giving detailed description: distance, interesting highlights, fuel availability, food stops etc, etc, these could be downloaded to GPS and so anyone could follow the trip, or even lead a trip, without too much prep.
Could also contain accomodation, contact details etc

Hello Sergey

I will investigate how club guests can access the site. For now you can see the site and keep in touch via the public forum

Hey Jono (or anyone who is site admin for the new site)

Can the new site be set up to automatically scale (correct term?) so that instead of a skinny strip displayed, it will wallpaper itself to fill whatever screen is in use?

And the tiny pics... is that a website restriction or Intrepid Ken just saving on pixels? :P

Hi Shane

The versatility for different browsers including mobile (ie iphone) is coming soon!
As for the picture sizes that is probably the poster uploading an avatar instead of a picture

What browser did you use by the way?

Cheers

Hi Jono
Ive just given the new site a trial run... accessed my profile/forum etc, used the membership payment (paypal) option, logged onto the annual dinner/payment etc...everything worked ok. Cant see any problems so far - lets see if you get my membership payment from paypal.
PS love the bikes - but have to stop getting David to build them and get your hands dirty
