Me too Jim.

Looking to make some custom mounts for my LED's on the HP2.

PS: I asked a SS fabricator in Wangara about making some mounts - I would have to take a second mortgage to pay for them. Glanced around his workshop expecting too see his Touratech sign.

I would recommend Frank at Alloy Fabrications & Welding Services East end of Buckingham drive Wangara. He made my stainless steel pannier racks so I could run the 1200gsa ally panniers on the HPM, he also fabricated my footpeg lowering mounts and the side stand. He runs a one man shop making parts for mining industry builders boats 4wd's etc and his prices are pretty reasonable.

thankyou Gents for the replies.

JonO..... probably a bit far north for me on this trip, we will be coming in via Brookton to the airport.

_Wilks..... what lights are you fitting to the HP2? After a few months of research, procrastination and hours of YouTubing, I ordered a pair of these:

http://www.cyclopsadventuresports.com/L ... _p_11.html

I was almost going to order a pair of Rigid Ind Dually D2's but was just not happy with distance that the light projected ahead (going by the YouTube Vids), a lot of LED's seem to provide a lot of light but lacked "penetration". I came across the Cylclops lights on the ADVRider Forum and after reading most of the 48 pages decided this was what I was looking for. The service and communication from the owner, Darryl was excellent and I am looking forward to getting the lights fitted. I went for the 10/20 degree combo.

The bracket I need is not at all complex, basically a piece of flat s/steel bent to the shape of my mild steel template and with 6 holes drilled in it, would probably do it myself (and may have to) but I want the bends and slight offset to be correct.

cheers Jim

Jim

I've got a pair of Baja Designs SII. Huge worldwide reputation in the off road/rally scene for function and being near bullet proof.

Lots of light penetration... I should say, enough for me off road and 110kph on the highways.

Temporary mount location on my HP2.

And swapped over to my Africa Twin. I made up 2 harnesses which are left in situ on each bike.

Bully - their price is per light.

If you are a buyer, PM them first through their Advrider avatar and ask for the discount. I think its 10% off.

A couple of years ago I was lucky enough to see they had a sooper dooper once only 'trade expo' price for any advrider member who fronted their display. I PM'd them being all sooky and grovelling saying 'what about me' from down under and bugger-me-drunk, they gave me the $50 discount on each light!

I should have bought four cos now I'm thinking of putting their 8" OnX bar on the AT and leaving the SII's on the HP2.

For a second opinion ask Howard about how good these BajaD LED's are. We did some night riding up around Kumarina last year.

Sorry for the hijack Jim... back to SS fabricators.

thats OK... all makes interesting reading...... those lights look good, a bit more compact than the ones I have, which are just a bit smaller than the Rigid Ind Dually’s.
I’m going to put mine up beside the headlights so should look OK.... was going to remove the factory fog lights and modify that bracket but can’t bring myself to mount spotlights upside down... (don’t really know why  )

cheers Jim

And I suspect we may have been doing a shade over 110 too. Shane was on a mission.

dropped my bracket template off to Adam Smith at ACS Fabrication yesterday.... found his shop by asking the ARB Store near Midland Shopping Centre for advice.

http://www.acsfabrication.com.au

Impressed with Adam’s approach, he is happy to do small one off jobs (check out his website Our Products/Odds and Ends Projects) and I didn’t feel like I was in any way an inconvenience which can happen at larger engineering type places. Told him I was going to list his business here on the forum and he was more than happy.
