Of rugged mountain ranges, of droughts and flooding rains.
I love her far horizons, I love her jeweled sea.
Her beauty and her terror, the wide brown land for me."

Re: Charley Boorman show- RTRA & trails PR
Guys
Charley Boorman has a BMW 1200 GS while he is in Perth and we (DPaW and RTRA) are trying to get him to a local trails area to name the trail next Wednesday - so if anyone is free and fancies a ride out with CB, let me know - pm me and I will provide details...

Re: Perth Motorcycle & S*@@t*r Show November 1-3
So is anybody out there?
Or has everybody died....Or have I mised it....the rapture that is....and an now I'm the only soul left alone on the planet.......
Or am I just riding with my mate on his GSXR who:s coming up from Bunbury for the charity ride and then the show...

Most problems can be solved with a suitable application of throttle!

I'll be there....although crowds on bikes are not very appealing, but a good cause and a nice cruise down the coast.
I have a bit of a shopping list........

Thank heavens, someone's posted !!!
thanks guys, I thought for a while I was the only BMW owner (not rider) left alive on the planet.
Looking forward to catching up with a few there then. (phew, thought I was gonna be surrounded by HD riders all weekend again)

Spent a pleasent couple of hours at the show today. Got in early before the mobs arrived.
Bumped in to Rainer and Wes at different times enjoying the lovely machines on display.
Dropped into Auto Classic wearing my Club Shirt to say hello but he either knows me or was not interested in me because I wasn't waving fists full of dollars in his face to buy a new bike so got completely ignored
Hope you guys going tomorrow get a better reception

Re: Perth Motorcycle & S*@@t*r Show November 1-3
Fantastic ride with Mick Doohan and Charley Boorman today.
Over 1,000 riders and lots of BMW's particularly GS's.
Spotted Bully on his BMW Suzuki hybrid sidecar and Sprocket on his 1200GS.
The ride was a bit manic up the front as motorcyclists vied to ride next to Mick and Charley.
$19,000 was raised from riders with more to come from auctioning a Repsol Honda used by Mick in the ride and Mick's helmet.
Channel 7 was there and were doing a documentary on Mick.
The venue was absolutely packed and the stunt riders impressive.
Still recovering from being a couple of metres away from two harleys revved at full throttle

Re: Perth Motorcycle & S*@@t*r Show November 1-3
Yeah, one crazy ride. Flybuys, both left and right, HD's owning the road, and street bikes just mental. Forget everything you've ever imagined about a group ride.....etiquette, protocol and just plain good old manners and courtesy.........every peanut in Perth that rides a bike was there and all his mates came too. Truly manic....even a couple of irritating buzz boys on little scooters...arriving at every set of lights up on the inside in the gutter, then going side by side up to about 40 kph, trying to get past them, only for them to come up the inside again an the next set of lights..enough to give you the s#*ts.....then five street bikes wide at the next set of lights.....D*ckheads..
So, for me next year, I'm taking the train.......
