Hi Everyone,
I have on good authority that friends of Sergey (Dr. Abst) will be arriving in Perth on the Thursday 19 th April.
There will be a group of 10 and they will be staying at The Miss Mauds Hotel on Murray Street.
They then set off on thier motorbike tour on Sat 21st.
Exact details at this time are unknown, however a great opportunity to meet like minded folk and practice your Russian!

A group/ mass ride/escort has been suggested to accompany the group from the airport to their hotel followed by a dinner or something has been suggested (but timings are again unknown at this time).
Possibly do something like a breakfast on SATURDAY before they leave?, or ride some way with them? A good demonstration of Aussie hospitality is definetly in order though

Any ideas welcome.

It would be great for members to be on standby that evening, for a bit of a processional ride. We should also organise a posse to meet with the group at 9.00 am outside the hotel. then maybe lead them all to Autoclassic, for starters, to introduce them to those good folk, before they ride off, over the horizon John

All right. I will not tell anyone anything. Today, the club opened the season. Today, the Orthodox Easter. Today is the first warm day (10) in Moscow. On the streets a lot of people on motorcycles. Blue sky and sunshine!

Toni and I are willing to arrange a BBQ on the river Friday night, if they are interested. Also I'm able to assist Thursday if needed, for s short periods if needed.

It flies through Dubai. Who that will meet them in Perth. Marina asked to make an appointment in hotel. If it is not difficult, write me number of your phone. I will tell to it that she could call you. I haven't written to you that Marina the president of BMW Motorad of Club Russia. Sorry. Very much I want that you would meet and contacts have come into. At "wightman" there is its address. She sent it the letter. Yours faithfully. Sergey.

I am away all of next week, so John has elected to arrange the details for Thursday > Friday night including establishing contact and probably meeting them at the hotel (as requested) so John will let everyone know in regards to Thursday, then Friday.

I am hoping to meet them on Saturday, hopefully for breakfast then whatever....

Where and when are they picking up bikes?

Everything else is unknown at this time,

just don't have any of the details yet. I have requested again, but it's proving difficult as Sergey is not part of the group on this trip.

Marina has not yet replied but seems that the Friday morning slot, at 9, is one we should keep. So please, all that can attend, pls come through to the hotel for this. I have to rush off back to work.............groan...... but maybe the rest of you can escort them to Autoclassic, or wherever they wish to go. Ken, your idea of a Friday BBQ is wonderful! I'll try and make it, if they are on for that, though I'm flying out to Singapore, at midnight. I'll update everyone when I get an agenda from Marina. John

They have arrived in Sydney and fly to Perth Thursday ETA 11:00am.
John is to arrange contact and details for Thursday evening.
Hoping to meet them at the hotel Friday evening - or possible BBQ as Ken suggests.
Again, details are sketchy, so hopefully John can make some firmer plans with them Thursday evening.
Maybe a ride out with them Saturday morning to see them off might be an idea. (I'm stuck in Newcastle until Friday afternoon).

Hopefully John will give us more details when available.

THe 10 Russian adventurers are currently visiting Cottesloe beach, in taxis. They will be back to their Murray street hotel (Miss Maude, near the railway station) by 7pm tonight (Thursday). I'll drop in for a vodka or two. I'm pretty sure they will welcome anyone popping in tonight (brring your cameras), but particularly tomorrow night and Saturday morning, when they will all depart on their hired bikes off eastwards, (maybe McFarklage can meet them as they sweep into Victoria) Let's show them some WA hospitality! John
