For all of you that are unable to make it tonight, all is not lost. I would suggest that we meet at Miss Maude, at 9 am on the Saturday morning (tomorrow). The Russians will be ferried to Oz Bikes, by taxi, from where they will head off towards Darwin. They will reach Darwin after 18 days of riding and they will then return home (to Russia). They are riding a variety of BMWs and chook chasers, swapping with each other, till they find their "ideal mount". Sprocket man has volunteered to be the focal point for Saturday morning well-wishing activities.
The idea would be that our group might escort them out towards Hyden (they will do the Holland Track on Sunday), so it almost raises the possibility of resurrecting the "Cave Hill" ride from the dead. Of course, they will be directed by OzBikes guides. However, I think that it would be good for interclub relations, for a posse of us to be in attendance. These riders represent a very large, loosely held together band of 4000 members, all around Russia, who organise rides (April-October) and communicate along the theme "GS is our Nirvana"

thanks to Toni ( who I think organised most of the barbie, although Ken tried to claim credit ) it was a great night with an absolute fantastic backdrop, I'm sure that the overseas visitors appreciated it muchly.
With Lefty belting out a few tunes and the warnings passed off ( in pidgeon english at times) i.e anything taller than you beware of , I'm sure that the travellors will have lasting impressions of their brief stay in Perth

Good morning to all
Just had a call from Davey, apparently the Russions will be making their way to collect the bikes this morning and being inducted, loading up etc - so it will not be practical to meet with them this morning.
I believe last night went well, and a good time was had by all.

Many thanks to all for a great night with our visitors. They really enjoyed our hospitality in the short time available.
Lefty provided some entertainment, Toni & Ken arranged almost everything and thanks to those who made it at short notice.
Many email addresses were swapped and lots of photos will hopefully appear soon.
Many thanks to those who arrived on bikes and made a good show
(I pushed in my IGA shopping trolley in an effort to bolster the numbers (and didn't fall off it --having four castor wheels probably helped)
Unfortunately lack of time didn't allow for much else other than a quick look at our beautiful city from Kings Park on the way back to their hotel.

I would like to add my thanks to those that organised this event and the spread - Toni, great job, and Ken (The Tank) for cooking and guiding the guests across Perth water, Bully on the BBQ and to the many others who helped - organising, emailing, supplying food beers, etc. To the guests - have a safe and fun ride and thanks for joining us.
Finally to the vodka suppliers between here and Darwin -stock up because the Russians are coming!!!
