Hi can anyone give me some feedback or point me in the right direction to get feedback on this new model before I buy it?

It is hard to discuss the bike without knowing what you want to use it for. Will it be used only on formed roads? What load will it carry? What size is the rider? Will it carry a pillion?How agressive is the rider?

I understand that a hire company in Brazil that used the G650GS found they were getting lots of damaged rims through extensive use on unsealed roads.

Having had an F650Gs and a strong preference for spoked wheels I suppose I am biased against the cast wheels. The basic G650GS has a 19" front wheel. The Sertao has a 21" front wheel. If I was buying a light GS even for limited offroad I would look at the 21" front wheel.

My 2006 F650Gs has done 72,000 kms and its only issues were a failed water pump and a distorted front brake disc.

The G650Gs reviews seem pretty good. You might look at:
