When I bought my 2007 1200 GS I thought that I had missing tools from the tool kit and have been sourcing bits and pieces to make up the shortfall. I have probably well overshot the mark as my tool kit now weighs several kilos.
I now realise that I had the full tool kit and that what I had seen was an old 1200 GS tool kit.

I am not quite sure what tool kit you have finished up with, but the kit supplied as new amounted to almost nothing, in contrast to older BMW kits which were quite comprehensive. There is (was ?) a genuine toolkit which you could buy through the shop, but the price was a bit over the top.

I should have read my Rider's Manual
Page 100 ilustrates the Standard Toolkit for a 2007 1200 GS contains 6 items:
- screwdriver with reversible blade
- extension for the screwdriver blade
- one 17mm open ended spanner
- hook wrench for the spring preload
- extension for use with the hook wrench
- oil cap tool
