I contacted Grays yesterday about the 3 unlicensed 2005 BMW R1150 RT bikes.
They expect final bidding to be over $10,000 to which you add another $1,000 for GST and 6%. The total then is over $11,600.
Add extra for pick up and transfer to a Sydney motorcycle shop and a NSW blue slip and they are starting to look expensive.

I bought one of these on e-bay ( Goldie now owns it) I paid the e-bay guy $12500 back in 2008 for a Police 2005 RT 1150. I had to buy a pillion seat kit as it only came with the police radio top box which is next to useless, pay for re-registration a new back tyre and arrange for a pick up in Melbourne ( airfare, travelling costs back to Perth etc). The e-bay guy had some arrangement with the auction people as he seemed to have an unlimited supply of these bikes at the time. He had 3 when I picked mine up and he seemed to have new listings for the next year or so with prices going as low as $8000 for some of the e-bay auctions.
I think 5 years on from when I bought my bike $10000 is definitely too expensive for these bikes.

After having bagged the auction I under up making a bid on each of the three bikes in turn as the bike I was bidding on became more and more expensive.
Had to bail from bidding for the best bike when it reached $9,200 and the worst bike at $8,200.
All three bikes will cost their new owners over $10,000 each when GST and fees are added.
