So, now for the 'goodness' part of all that fun we had a few weeks back at 'Ric's Belmont Kart World.

On a shiny morning last Friday, a handful of club members gathered at AutoClassic BMW Motorrad for the passing-on of the much-needed funds to LifeLine WA.

CEO Fiona arrived in the appropriate manner aboard a new BMW R1200 GS Water-Cooled ride piloted by yours truly 8)

As we all know, once the excitement of motorcycling is tasted, it doesn't take long to want more :P Fiona snaps up the opportunity to throw a leg over the S1000RR, the real speed machine.

Producer Ric shot enough video to package a full length feature film... coming soon...

On to the business then, the cheque for $3230 was presented to LifeLine CEO Fiona at the premises of our ever-generous sponsors AutoClassic BMW Motorrad in Victoria Park.

So that's a wrap folks.

Many thanks to:
  • All of you for participating and sharing a fantastic fun evening at Belmont Kart World.
  • Our great sponsors, BMW AutoClassic Motorrad for supporting the evening with great raffle prizes, and of course, sending their race crew to win the racing. Next year, you know... well, we'll... yeah, yeah...
  • The huge effort put in by the very generous Ric from Belmont Kart World who donates his premises and staff for the evening.
  • And to Vice-President Cookie for the hours of behind the scenes running around in his own time to make it all happen.
Don't forget to support our sponsors... buy a bike, get your friends together for a practice kart racing session or 2 and work towards taking home the trophy next year...

Let's see what we can achieve next year.

2012: RFDS

2013: LifeLine WA

Well done everyone, committee and Rick. Great effort.

2012: RFDS

2013: LifeLine WA

2014: RFDS?

...maybe stick to just two, both very relevant. But, then again maybe something for disadvantaged kids...e.g. Parkerville Childrens home, Smith family. Just a few ideas.

Firstly - congratulations to everyone involved, especially the Committee and Rick!!!

Given the membership activity is more or less centred around 'roads and tracks' and especially the countryside and outback, I would like us to think about sponsoring a 'relevant not for profit' every second year. Obviously RFDS springs to mind but there might be other worthy organisations.
