Do you mean to return to bare metal, to original new condition, or to a condition whereby they look new by say ceramic coating?? I have had my entire system on the HP2 (headers and muffler) ceramic coated - do not have any photos though, but if Wilks is reading this he may be able to post some photos of his ceramic coated exhaust system?

If they are stainless steel then any auto polisher can restore them to look like new. I know of a couple North of the River if you want details.

It is just your standard BMW exhaust.... I don't have the time myself to sit and polish them back to what they were.. so when I get the bike serviced on Monday.. I was going to get the guy to send them to someone to clean them up.. don't really need ceramic coating.. unless it not much price difference in getting someone / company to clean the exhaust up.
So if you have details on where to send them to.. please tell

I don't know of anyone to suggest but why don't you have a crack at it yourself? Plenty of how-to videos on Youtube.
This is how my stock HP2 headers turned out after 15mins or so on the buffing wheel. I didn't take a 'before' photo but they were the typical burnt black/brown colour from 30,000km of dirt and mud.
For approx $125, you'll be able to buff the headers as often as you like. And do other stuff too (see pics 4 & 5)
Shopping list (Bunnings prices):
Bench grinder; 6" or 150mm one will do; $39 Ozito
Remove one or both of the metal grinding wheels and replace with a tapered spindle
Tapered spindle (12mm if you bought a 6" grinder); $22 (pic 1 below)
Loose leaf calico wheel; $27.50 (pic 2)
Finishing compound - green, white or blue (no need to buy anything coarser); $13.20 (pic 3)
Purple Metal Polish; approx $25 from this mob

Pics 4 & 5 Africa Twin bash plate. Before and after. Approx 45mins work. Could do better if I spent more time on it.
This is what ceramic coating looks like after approx 10,000kms and following a quick wipe with metal polish. I think I paid around $300 in 2009 (bwanainoz can confirm more current prices)

Hi,
Had my exhaust done recently, scrubbing away at the exhaust is not for me.. so I found a place that "Ceramic" Coates your exhaust.. looks very close to a nicely chromed exhaust.. except that it will now stay that way and not start to turn blue etc
Had it done by "Vinci Chrome"

I have a bench grinder, and several different polishing/buffing wheels. For a small fee, I could make your tubes look shiny again
(and your exhaust system)
