Spadille Club Social - What did you think?

The Club social at Spadille Garage on Monday night 10th November was really well attended with over 40 members and guests (the attendance list was full up)
It ran from 7:30 to 9:45 when the last stragglers left. What I would like to ask now is for some feedback from those who attended, so that your committee can decide if the Spadille Social should become a regular event. So lets have it then, tell us what was good, what wasn't and if you would like us to run it again and perhaps how often?
Thanks in anticipation of your feedback
Jon :P

It was a very pleasant evening, catching up with old acquaintances and meeting a few new people.
The coffee was good ( had 2)
The beer was cold ( had 3)
Hosts very amicable
I would like to see this as a regular event

Some thoughts and ramblings.............Venue was ok for mingling and socialising with partners of club members and members but I wonder how it will go once the novelty value disappears as is proposed it becomes a bi-monthly event alternating with formal meetings
I'm not sure if it could replace the Sunday mornings at Cats as a social venue which is very popular presently as our present regular social get together but it could certainly replace "The Vic hotel" for formal meetings thou.
The club to function as a club does need the formal monthly meetings to communicate and glue together members commitment to the organisation so that there is a degree of pride , camaraderie and enjoyment in belonging .
Members have to feel a benefit of being part of a group of like minded people who are part of an organisation which has ownership of a BMW motorcycle and riding such bike as the centre piece for being a member.
This is where the formal monthly meetings orchestrated by a charamistic president and committee try and satisfy members reasons for belonging to the club and keeping club members interested in remaining as club members.
This in my opinion is achieved by the formal meetings where members are seated and follow a formatted meeting agenda which I feel should be held regularly once a month. I'm not sure the social meeting alternated with a formal meeting is the way to go. Maybe incorporate the social meeting somewhere into a separate social night during the month not limited to the Spadille Garage, but keep the formal monthly meeting each month as we have been doing....

Sunday morning at Cat's is a must...so the idea, every second month, meeting at Spadille, with alternate month a more social type gathering there?....I felt that it was a great mixing type atmosphere at Spadille, which encourages wives, girlfriends, fencesitters/outsiders to come along & have a mixnmingle...Bill mentioned the novelty wearing off, it might do that, it might not...I'm sure that after our 40th function there, the buzz of the Vibe will continue on....Can only give it a try. Regarding having a formal meeting within the social Spadille month, could that end up being a bit too busy for some?
