I honestly only found out about it on the 1st Jan, when my sister arrived on my doorstep.

Thanks to everyone for the small gifts. Honestly they weren't expected, but certainly accepted and appreciated. I have received some very nice gifts and will be treasured.
But in accepting some of these gifts I have to say now, " Hi my name is Mike, I'm an alcoholic "

When you have a birthday at this time of year. You never really have a party or plan one because most friends are away on holidays. So I hadn't even thought about my birthday.
