Bike Hire in The UK and Europe

I have managed to negotiate a deal with one of BMW UK's bike insurance brokers for bike hire in the UK and Europe. This will include breakdown cover.

The bike will need to be owned by me and subject to a hire contract (needn't be too onerous).
This will remove the difficulties found when trying to buy, register and insure a bike either here in the UK or in Europe with no UK address.
I can also keep the bike serviced and generally looked after.

As yet I have not bought a bike, I would buy something with luggage etc. First thoughts are an 1150GS or RT to keep the price a little more reasonable. I have found an excellent K1100LT, doubt that one will stay on the market very long.

My question; is there any interest in this?
