Donks Update 4 April

Post by old betsy »

After many months of searching.
I can't believe the neglect of some people.
Donks was dehydrated and hungry.
So I've got him sorted. Not sure whether he has been mentally scared yet

Gee I just let him out into the paddock and look what he found.
He's kicking his shoe in the air like a young teenager

Well done Mike - I clearly remember one of my fellow travellers (he describes himself as a vertical lift engineer) requesting if he could look after Donks once we got back to Australia. It must have been delayed altitude sickness or something - for some reason I naively agreed. I hadn't seen Donks since that fateful day, thank you so much for finding him, I can't tell you how relieved I am.

Welcome home Donks!

Well I thought Donks was doing okay yesterday.
Today he took a turn for the worst.
After his traumatic last few months we had to take him to hospital.
He under went MRI, CAT Scans, X-rays, and a Colonoscopy.
Doctors said nothing could be determined and it just looks like he's had the stuffing kicked out of him.

Today I visited Donks only to have him throw up in front of me.
He seems to have some colour back in his cheeks now.
Looks like Donks will be in hospital over the weekend.
Donks main concern is will he be able to attend the Desert Raid.
The doctors said he should be right to attend.

I understand ASS-ADA are interested in Donks from the time he had a trial run with the Brumbies and tested positive to EGH (Equine Growth Hormone). This may explain him being missing for a few months to avoid ASS-ADA testing.

The Brumbies had recruited him under their Paddock to Player program.

Apparently he has been mixing with the wrong Hird lately and could have been injected with anything such as Essence of Donkey or Essendon as it is otherwise known.

My suggestion is to do a Hair analysis to check for past drug taking such as Ketamine. The symptoms you describe for Donks are consistent with going cold donkey after heavy Ketamine using.

The bad news is that although his appearance will improve with time he will still feel stuffed for the rest of his life.

I notice Donks made the journey for his ASSesment alone!

You need to take better care of him and ASSess your attitude or I will ASSail the world with the true story of how you and Donks first met. Be ASSured, I am serious.

Won't be at the brASSerie on Sunday for breakfast. Got the bike loaded, I'm gone

Well Donks is home now.
Resting in bed.
I bumped into a friend of his at the hospital, Donald Keyes.
He asked, to pass on his regards to everyone

I would also like to point out that Donks didn't take any drugs. Regardless of whether he was injected with something or not. We just don't know what. Because why wouldn't you asked " what are you injecting me with"

In the greater scheme of things, Donk's previous plight, the love, care that he has received since, is not going to grab headlines...Though what the above does show, is what really "wonderful people" are within this club.

Good to hear of Don again. Don makes great Bray-ded Brake lines, a skill he picked up from his wife Jenny who rehabilitated him after he went feral in outback Australia.

Just a thought but Jenny may be able to help Donks in a similar way.
