More BMW Bikes Stolen

Awoke this morning to find that my 1200 GS and 1150 R had been stolen.
Must have been a planned event as the bikes were blocked in by two cars and would have had to been lifted to move them.
Both are possibly doing the Border Run right now.
Local Police had not experienced this type of theft before in the area.
More sympathy now for Snaga.

The stolen 2007 GS is fitted with Vario Panniers, Pivot Pegs but is pretty standard.

Nick
A tracking device seems very sensible now...great idea for any replacement bike.

Sorry for your double whammy loss Chris. Incredible how they got them out past your cars, maybe just coincidental coming after Toms bike being stolen but I must admit I am somewhat concerned that someone may have cracked the clubs members details somehow?
Just think on the bright side if you are able to mate?......................You could probably update to a good bike like a 700GS
Hope the bastards are caught sooner rather then later.
BTW I have just removed my address from my personal details.

Swampy

Really sorry to hear this sad news Chris. Definitely sounds like an organised targeted job.there must have been a few of them to lift a heavy GS over your cars. They would have had to be big Bs. You are probably lucky that you didn't confront them in the act.
What I don't understand is that with no key, computerised VIN nos and not large numbers of these bikes around how they expect to dispose of them. I'm sure law enforcement keep an eye on second hand parts advertised, re-registrations and second hand bike sales. It's all a mystery.
Anyway really sorry to hear this .
