Another Great Spanner Day

I have just arrived home from having spent the whole day out preparing my 'iron lady' for the rigours of the off-road riding season.
I spent the morning at JonO's place sorting out a battery terminal connection and getting my potties to function correctly. Success on both counts.
It is one thing to purchase a half price battery from Thorsten which is not a genuine BMW part it is quite another thing to ensure my bodgie bracket was not gong to short out in rough terrain. Thanks for your fastidiousness and application to solving that little problem JonO. while we were on a roll, I thought that I would get JpnO to quickly see if he could work out why my spotties were not working? Two hours and a new relay later JonO was at his perfectionist best taping and tying the relay in a readily identifiable way, and in a reachable position, but unlikely to cause any problems for trouble free riding. The spotties are now a go for daylight only riding
The afternoon was whiled away with the usual suspects at Alex's where I had my from and rear brake pads replaced. Alex's knowhow and support is always greatly appreciated and today was no exception as far as I was concerned. I now know theoretically how to take old pads off, put new ones on and bleed the brake lines of a little fluid. there were a few snooty comments when I pulled the new ones out of my panniers about not being genuine bmw parts. My only defence is that I bought them at Munich Motorcycles and if they are good enough for Bruce they are good enough for me. Yes, Jamie they are probably the $10.00 and not the $20.00 ones.
So thank you to JonO and Alex once again for their willingness to give of their precious time to club members, I appreciate it very much.
This all goes to mean that I am now ready for the off-road riding season and I hope to see you all in the great Aussie Outdoors after Easter when I return from Bali.
Cheers
Patrick
