Finely something sensible from the government for motor cycling. If a helmet is brought into Aussie from Europe what is the certification a sticker or some sort of tag and can anybody tell us have law enforcement people been told so riders don't get booked and insurance company's cover any claims.Well done to the people who have been working on this for a long time

Straight from the horse's mouth...

Motorcycle training key point of safety review

https://www.mediastatements.wa.gov.au/P ... eview.aspx

Our colleagues in the MRA have done a brilliant job working with the 'powers-to-be' moving this 'no-brainer' to fruition :P

Now all those super lightweight Euro helmets are actually legal now 8)

The ability of motorcyclists to use bus lanes was a step in the right direction.

Now, simply allowing motorcyclists to use the emergency lanes on the freeways during peak hour is another 'no-brainer'. If motorcyclists are 'so vulnerable', get them out of the traffic. Save even more lives.

And just in case your wondering, the helmet issue ain't no April Fools joke... but in typical W(ait) A(while) fashion we are the last state to implement changes to allow Euro helmets  Actually there might be one other state holding out, can't remember who was holding WA's hand at the back of the queue.

Read into it what you like, but the review paints motorcyclists as alcohol-fueled criminals

Be prepared to feel some heat into the future.

From the earlier release of the review, in the order of 30% of fatalities could be avoided simply by getting people to wear seat belts in cars. But that would be too easy, and there's not enough cash in that, is there

Applying heavier seat belt enforcement, in combination with making mobile-phone-use whilst driving a serious offence (like alcohol and drugs), real in-roads could be made into road safety for us all...
