Can anyone help please?
Just discovered my Zumo 550 battery has crapped out. I'm heading off on Thursday for a week long into the northern Goldfields. Does anyone have a battery they'd be happy to lend for a week? Or know where I can buy one in Perth in store?
I've tried sourcing one in Perth without luck (Prestige Comms sells them but have none in stock atm).

Thanks Jon.
No need to bring the spare now.
Tragedy has struck. I picked up a loaner battery late this arvo and have discovered its not a battery problem. Something is amiss inside. Internal battery maybe? I'll be giving google a thorough workout before declaring my 550 done n dusted.

Wills, it will be corrosion on the small circus it boeoard I the bike mount.
May be fixable maybe not. It's quite common.

Did you mean to write -
it will be corrosion on the small circuit board in the bike mount?
When saying "the bike mount", are you referring to the cradle? Or something inside the unit itself?
My Zumo won't fire up either in or out of the cradle.

My guess is McFarkle wrote this after one or two Reds with dinner.

Finally back in range.
It's the circuit board in the cradle. As your gps hasn't been charging in the cradle it's flat so won't boot up. If you try another charger it should be fine. But the bike cradle/ charger is probably cactus. Have 2 friends in Vic who have both had this happen in the last month.internal corrosion in both cases.
