Hi,

I'm from Denver, Colorado in the US and will be in Perth with a free day on 28 August 2016 and was considering renting a moto for the day. I have a 2016 R1200 GS Adventure  and a 2009 KTM 450 XC-W at home. Any adivce you folks could give me on weather, where to rent, and where to go would be greatly appreciated. I'd also love to tag along on a rented bike for a club outing if anything is going on that day.

All the best,

Jeff

Hi Jeff,
Club has a causal gathering at Catalanos Cafe, 266 Albany Hwy, Victoria Park WA 6100,every Sunday about 7.30am until about 9.00am and some members then go for a ride, some road, some dirt.
Not sure on renting a bike.
If my X was not still coming back from a blown gear box on the Nullabour you could use that but it has some time in the workshop when it gets back on the 29.
Some one else may have a suggestion on getting hold of a bike to use.
Would be good to meet you at the breakfast at Catalanos.
Anthony

Hi Jeff

You are welcome to borrow my 1988 K75 on that day, if the rental doesn't work out. I will be using my K100LT on the usual Club run on that day. Our tour guide, Bozo (yes, worrying, isn't it?) usually cooks up a mystery route a few minutes before 9 on the actual day but it is always to an exciting venue (with brilliant roads).

Cheers

John

Thanks for the warm welcome. The breakfast sounds good. I found a shop that will rent a Ducati Diavel for the day and if the weather is decent (it's looking poor at the moment) I will rent the Diavel and come to the breakfast and see what happens from there.

John, Thanks for the offer to loan me a bike, It's greatly appreciated. As long as you guys don't run me off if I show up on a Ducati, I'll go with the rental weather permitting. I should also mention that if any of you make it to Colorado I will "hook you up." We have some spectacular riding in CO and single track that is world class.
