A six month trial on averaging vehicle speeds on a section of road on the Forrest Highway will end in April.

It is expected that infringements will be issued from July 2017 after amendments to legislation to allow the use of this technology for enforcement.

The technology is widely used in the eastern states. It may also assist with the introduction of tolls if the Government agrees to go down that path.

The only rear facing camera in the array seems to be a simple security camera so it seems like the trial is not targeting motorcycles.

In the eastern states, the timed distance cameras are mainly focused on heavy transport vehicles.

They're trying to curb dangerous heavy vehicle behavior...

New Cameras :El Caballo Northam side and Northam bypass + Near 2'nd eastward exit.............I'm told the Caballo camera can ping from nearly a Kilometre. Im nervy with 8 demerits up ATM.
Not really looking forward to tolls..............what a drag. Bikes should be exempt. Need the MRA to argue that one.
