Vic's Story ...
Date: 16 / 8 / 2017
Time: 18:00

Location: Auto Classic BMW Motorcycles
Perth rider and BMW R1200GS owner, Vic Hussey has led adventure motorcycle rides through out Australia, Mongolia and Russia for over 500 people over the last 7 years, totaling over half a million kilometres.

In June 2017, Vic led a group of Perth riders on a 2,800km two week ride from Ulaanbaator, Mongolia to Irkutsk, Russia, which was captured by a local filmmaker Cameron Frost.

Join us, as we watch their recorded adventure unfold and discuss their plans to take Western Australian riders using their own BMW bikes on their very own epic 3,500km three-week ride from Mongolia to Russia.

Discuss in detail how you could experience first hand riding along the banks of Lake Baikal, traveling off road on the breath taking Steppe, experiencing remote camping, fishing in pristine rivers, exploring the mountains around Lake Khovsgol, sleeping in a Mongolia Ger and the trials and tribulations of Russian Border Guards.

Expressions of interest will be sought for Perth riders to join a small group on the trip of a lifetime.

Congrats to AutoClassic for rolling out the red carpet for us all tonight. The pizza and cold drinks were a pleasant and welcome surprise. I'll have to get blinkers next time. Far too many shiny new motorcycles to ogle...

Very interesting evening with our former COP Karl (and chairperson of the Bright Blue charity) introducing the Bright Blue charity ride to Mongolia 2018, and a plug for the 2018 Postie Bike Gibb River ride.

A three week adventure ride around northern Mongolia and a border crossing into Russia. It includes everything.
Eg. Passage of you and your own motorcycle (BMW in this case) to Mongolia and return; about 500 km of riding on the Steppes (off-road) and around 2500 km of touring on the tar; hotels; camping; everything provided, even a visit to Genghis Khan... talk to Aaron at Auto Classic for more details.

The Bright Blue charity supports the Rotary Interplast effort to send plastic surgeons to Mongolia where a significant percentage of young country kids suffer severe burns.

Mongolia Project:

Gibb River Postie Bike Ride:

Himalayas Royal Enfield Tour 2017; Camp Cook-Off Winner 2017; Kennedy Ranges; Three Oceans Tour Australia; Hyden-Norseman Breakaways; R1200 series final drive repair; Mt Augustus; Bimbijy Station; Around Oz
