Annual Dinner 15 June 2019

Post by wightman »

The Committee has chosen Greenhills Inn to be our venue for this year's annual dinner. Our hosts, Rob and Apryl will be preparing a roast, followed by a dessert, for $30 per head. If you would like to attend, you should contact the Inn directly to book your accommodation and to give them the numbers in your party (08 96414095). Immediate family members of members are welcomed to attend.

The choices are : Double/twin/single rooms upstairs $90-$110per room.
There are single dongas outside, $80.
Camping can be effected for no charge, $5 for the use of the shower.

The dinner will start at 7pm

Once you have booked your accommodation and the meal, let us know on this forum, so we can gauge numbers.

It would be great if we could have an off road champion to lead the troops and a black top champion to lead the road bike mob. I may be able to lead either ride if there is a gap towards the last week before the annual dinner.

The Greenhills Inn is located 20 kms east of York, on the Quairading Road and is one of the finest examples of federation architecture in existence. Don't miss out on this experience!

All,

I will ride up for the annual dinner and head home that evening. Better book the meal!

See you there - as long as a cold front isn't bearing down that evening...

Hi All

Just to keep this post rattling around the top..........

The numbers are just on a dozen at the moment, so the rest of you, sitting around on the fence, now is the time to commit. You know that you want to go. Only 10 sleeps till the annual dinner.

Change of plans, I too will be in a tin top at the Greenhills dinner :)

Planned surgery, next week, to remove a skin cancer might make wearing a helmet awkward :(

John I have jumped off the fence and put mine and Sandra's name on the (registration) list. Do we pay for the meal when we get there? I couldn't see an early payment online option.

Maybe if the committee organized events where every member has the opportunity to attend like in Perth metro area, maybe people will attend. Instead of organizing events in the bush where it is harder for members to attend.
From memory when the committee tried this idea many years ago, there was a great turn out. Not like of recent when you get 10-20 people turn up, which is not even 10% of members.
Maybe it's time for the committee to have a rethink of where social events should be held , so all members can attend.

Thanks Swampy for the stirring reminder. Mei and I will be there for dinner, staying in our trusty BT 50 camper.
