Greetings Bill, It has become very obvious to most of us in the BMWMCCWA that you have been absent without leave (AWOL) for the last 12 months now and to be honest some of us thought you had left the club for good!!

Your presence has been missed by many of us who gather on a Sunday morning at Catalano's and it would be good to catch up with you again!

Also, You have missed the many club rides that have been organised since on most Sunday's that you used to participate in on occasions and enjoyed so much!!

So why not come down to Cat's next Sunday morning for breakfast so you can revive old friendships and and maybe meet some of the newer members of the club that you have not yet met due to your prolonged absence and show some active participation in the club?

It would be good to see you come down, join in and re quaint yourself with what we know as a terrific club and share with us what you have being doing to occupy yourself this last 12 months while you have been away?

Also if you are free from work this Wednesday the 3rd of July, you are also welcome you to join a group of us meeting at the Dome in Kelmscott at 0900hrs on what is forecast to be a fine sunny day to go on ride somewhere in the South in countryside that is greening up so beautifully now?

Regards

Swampy

Swamps mate thanks for the kind words. I have still been heading off on many rides with mates, by myself and with Doris. I had decided to take a break from meeting up on Sundays and events as I have had a lot of other things on and having had regularly attended club activities and club rides for the last 12 years or so, felt that there needed to be some time off from the club to recharge my involvement.
I have indicated a number of ideas and plans for members to examine and decide on where I would like to take the club, which I have tried to outline and explain how they may be put into place (which I gather you have been carefully examining.)
I had felt the club was becoming a bit stale compared from when I first joined. I hope now to again retrieve my enthusiasm with belonging to the club by taking on a leadership role. I hope with a enthusiastic committee and members to reach out to and enthuse the many BMW bike owners that aren’t involved in our club to also become involved and provide them with reasons to want to become regularly, involved members.
The BMWMCCWA should be the Centre point for the greater BMW bike community of WA and currently I feel it isn’t.
With more outsiders joining and non active BMW bike owners becoming involved with what they want to participate in if it involves just mixing with knowledgeable other members or going on “Swampy rides, Bozo rides, participating in track days, a annual BMW bike owners ride, raising money for charities, picnics with family groups out in the countryside with family members that don’t ride going in cars, off road ride groups helping less experienced members to gain knowledge and confidence, longer adventure rides, tuning days, bike related presentations, get together dinners, meeting up on Sundays etc etc that involves the club, it all goes towards building a stronger club holding interest for members that have paid big bucks for their bikes and want to use and enjoy them.
I feel to achieve this will see us providing a more representative club for the greater BMW WA community and the club enhancing the BMW bike owners with greater experiences and ownership of their bikes.
This with the greater diversity of the membership on a broader scale and more BMW bike owners becoming involved in the club we will see greater camaraderie of our membership, the club will become a more known respected motorcycle club within the WA community and the motorcycling fraternity and the club will move ahead.
I feel we as a club can achieve this.
At the risk of boring the hell out of some members I apologise for my verbose postings but do try and outline my thoughts the best I can.
