Which Bike?

I have come to the decision that I am not prepared to work another 6 to 12 months so I can buy a R1200R or RNine, Lovely as they are!!
I am tired, very tired due to circumstances that exist at my work so I came to a decision on Sunday night to rethink what BM I could afford in the short term with the limited cash I have managed to save over the last few months.
I took the day off on Monday and took Harry on his final ride in my hands to Auto Classic. There I perused the second hand bikes available in my limited price range and finally settled and purchased "Big Red" which is a 2013/14 R1200GS with reasonably low ks on the clock.
Shock Horror I hear you cry and yes Big Red is a handful to ride after such a long time riding a nimble sports/tourer but I did find it oh so much more comfortable riding it home.
I will be remaining at work for a while longer so I can save enough to purchase some items like panniers, engine guards etc but the main purchase has been made so now I am no longer under any pressure to linger any longer at work if the situation dictates that I have had enough and need to quit.
The bike had not been cleaned so I have already spent quite a few hours attempting to return the bike into reasonable condition and I am still not finished with it!
I won't be joining you on Thursday Peter as I want to spend some time solo getting used to handling a big bike again before joining in another group ride so I don't hold anyone back!!
It's not my dream bike but it is a BM and I an now back in the family at long last!!
