Guys,

Just enquiring, I figure some of you may have been using camelbaks when in the sticks, but who's got reasonable pricing on these in Perth and any types to avoid.

I'm going to be spending a LOT of time in full gear on the roads, and think these might be a good idea.

As an aside, anyone who states I should ignore the camel backs and go straight for the "Toe", cute, but no...

I own a 'Fluid' which is Anacondas 'home brand' stuff. It works for me. There is so much choice out there now that you will find heaps to choose from. My only advice is to ensure you can get replacement bladders for the unit you buy...sometimes, the replacement bladders cost more than the original unit. If you buy a genuine CamelBak, you will parltly be paying for the name.

Thanks, that's great info guys, I'll go have a look. I assume the anaconda is a camping shop type, wasn't aware wellington had them also.

It's tax deductible, so I'll see what they can do.

I was in a safety shop on Albany Highway the other day and they had hi-vis hydropacks. Orange with reflective strips - looked good if you want safety. Not a fashon item however - but good for road safety.

I got issued a Hi Vis from work. I lived in the Pilbara for 7 years and they are a must if you want to ride around in the summer up there, or anywhere where it gets hot. You don't realise how quickly you get in the dehydrate mode.
I find that using them you don't feel as tired after a days ride.
