Ariel Leano (1964-2020)

Post by Bozo »

Ariel Leano has passed away unexpectedly on his Australian motorcycle trip. He reached Launceston but the time and cause of his death is unknown. Ariel was full of life, had a great sense of humour and was a joy to have on a motorcycle ride. He was a regular at Catalano's breakfasts until three years ago before he headed to the Pilbara. He joined us earlier this year at Catalano's on his way from the Pilbara to the eastern states.

His entertaining Facebook posts, touring insights and unique places that he visited were enjoyed by many of our club members. His last post was from the Bay of Fires on March 16, 2020. He named his BMW GS La Boganette and treated her as a travelling companion.

A great bloke with an infectious sense of humour and a joy of life.

Rest in peace Ariel.

What a terrible tragic loss of a man so full of life and laughter

I spoke to him at length at Catalano's days before he left on his trip, excited at the prospect of his journey!!

He will be missed.

RIP mate!!

Of rugged mountain ranges, of droughts and flooding rains.
I love her far horizons, I love her jeweled sea.
Her beauty and her terror, the wide brown land for me."
