Club Social Evening Catalanos Monday 8 June 7.30pm

This is the final Social meeting of the year, prior to the A.G.M. It has been a difficult one to organise because our usual venue, Vic Park Hotel initially booked us in for 6, then 7 pm, then moved us to a Wednesday, because they won't be open on Mondays and Tuesdays until later on, in June.

Catalanos have booked us a private table for 7.30 pm, for 15, so it is important that we try and identify those individuals, so as to get the most out of an exclusive booking. I will set up a thread in the Private members forum, for members to commit. Bring your partners along and have a great time. You don't have to spend the full hour discussing the virtues of the R18, or the breaking strain of a 1200 GS drive shaft. This is an opportunity to network with fellow members on a variety of subjects. It is likely that we may be able to extend beyond the hour, if there is not another big booking straight after ours.

As a voluntary side, I would like to offer a bit of an impromptu ride, starting at the easternmost look-out in Kings Park, at 5,30pm on that evening (IF THE WEATHER IS FINE). We can sip on a hip flask and watch the orb of the sun dissolve slowly into the ileum of the Swan. Then we can zig zag through the north bank avenues, past all the yacht clubs and admire the shimmering glow of the sun in the lagoon-like estuary, from the look out points of Mosman Park.

I will try and locate a quick coffee stop location in Fremantle, which can cater to the likes of a Rag Tag group of BMW riders, We will have plenty of time to ride up Canning Highway, diverting to the River's south bank, through Ardross and Applecross, triumphantly crossing the Canning Bridge, like Napoleon did at the Etoile, at the Arc de Triomphe, arriving in plenty of time at the northern end of Albany highway, to take up our table at Catalanos. Those who don't want to eat at Cats can go home, or look in at Brandos or the Egyptian take away, at the south eastern end of Albany Highway (another Club favourite from the glory days of yesteryear)
