The rear shocky (ESA) on my 1200GSA has just sprung a leak, has anyone had any experience with replacing / fixing these at reasonable cost?

I'm going with the Wilbers option, $1400 shocks tailored to my weight and still ESA operational. I expect a slight cost extra for repair. At least this way you can tailor the shock to your weight and have it repaired. I beleive a new rear shock alone is in the $2000 region.

And the $1400 is for both shocks... not one...

Normal shock service non BMW is around $200-300

Is the rod scarred by dirt and dust, if it is it can make up alot of the cost of the shock. say 50% if it has complex valving in the rod.
If it is only seals then it is not to bad
Do the ring around of suspension service shops, you can find them in Australian Road Rider or do the Google on ADV rider.
I brought a non ESA to avoid the cost of fixing it.

For those interested, I have found crowd in NSW called Biketech (seem to know a lot about BMW shockies) who reconditions these shocks for about $250 / $300 depending on what needs repairing.
