Post by Bozo »

Sunday October 12 looks like being a brilliant day for a motorcycle ride.

Oakover Wines have their Vintage Market Day which includes an All Wheels Show and Shine.

I plan to go on a short ride after breakfast at Catalano's.

Kalamunda-Mundaring
Mundaring-Lakes
Lakes- Talbot West Road
Talbot Road - York
York- Spencers Brook- Clackline- Bakers Hill (Pie Break)
Coates Road - Burma Road - Berry Road - O'Brien Road - Brigadoon
Brigadoon - Oakover

I plan to get to the Oakover Market Day around 1:30pm

Seven riders took part in the prelude to Lefty at Oakover. Robby, Jos, Bill, Chris R, German Paul and Bozo left from Catalanos for the trip via Mundaring Weir, Lakes, Talbot Road, York, Spencers Brook for a pie at Bakers Hill. Colin joined us at Bakers Hill. Lots of motorcycles were out but very few cars until we got to Bailup Road where we passed a convoy of AC Cobras. At Berry Road it was a mob of MGs with a Peter Brock 05 Holden. We also struck a string of sportsbikes trying to double the speed limit and the Annual Norton Owners Ride. The wildflowers were in full bloom but it was cloudy an cool.

Oakover was unbelievable with parking and traffic backed up to the highway. We went off road and quickly found a parking spot next to the event. The Latte section of the group went straight past Lefty and his dulcet tones to the coffee stand. The Irish girl taking the orders translated "Bozo" as "Boozo". Lucky "Swum Pea" was not there.

A great scenic ride with lots of twisties. Even though it was on bitumen we did get out and see Australia.

Now to work out the IGA Stores, the flash accommodation and the bitumen route to Perkolilli.
