Today's spontaneous ride was to Bindoon via Neaves Road, then Julimar Road to Toodyay and the Swan Valley.
The ride was pretty warm and became a battle of attrition for the six riders..
Angela was the first to slip away in the Swan Valley. We then turned down Warbrook Road and past the area burnt in the Bullsbrook fire. Crews had done an amazing job to replace burnt power poles. It was amazing that the high voltage towers did not have better fire protection.
Through the Chittering Valley where German Paul battled the 1800cc behemoth through the tight corners.
A pie at the Bakehaus at Bindoon and Bill bailed making references to the heat.
Now down to four, the group headed to Toodyay for another stop at the Coca Cola Café. Bozo made a blue thinking that Salt Valley Road had been sealed through to Fernie Road so the group had to do a U Turn back to Toodyay Road.
German Paul turned off at Stoneville Road, Kim and Karl headed home leaving Bozo as the only member of the group to make Oakover Winery.
Lefty was singing his heart out with his new sound system and there was a big mob weaving through the Retro Fair.
Even though there was a fair sized crowd at Oakover it was a little smaller than last time and easier to get in and out.
Good to get and ride a few twisties.
Sorry Lefty for not bringing a mob....maybe next time.

Only one made it to Oakover
Re: Only one made it to Oakover
It certainly was a very warm day Folks
The ride suggestion was great,i was sorry i couldnt complete it fully, and sorry too that id missed the Quairdaring trip the week before due to work .
Planned to peel off back to Kingsley,as needed to be back for 10am to take a friend hospital visiting,& needed my car,Gnangara Rd seemed the perfect place,in order to pick up some fresh figs/grapes at Edgecombe
I returned later to Oakover, must have missed Lefty,as there was a Double Bass Ensemble on stage.Enjoyed the caravan with artisan ice lollies (tried Basil & Elderflower..a beautifully refreshing combination)served from a real 1950s fridge.
The Henrietta & Harriet Cadillac & Caravan outfit was there last year,a labour of love
Lovely to see so much colour and homemade effort
Wondered if the Rockin' Rhythm Dance Co could teach a dunce with 2 left feet....may have to put all the hours listening to Curtin FM to some use!
After hanging around much too long like "Cheese at Fourpence" ,headed for a pleasant ,outdoor evening meal at Rose & Crown at Guildford
Ange

Good to hear that you are getting out and about Ange enjoying a ride with the club.
Certainly can't knock Curtin Radio 100.1 The only station I ever listen too.
Had a rest day, Spent it getting to know Baby Blue by detailing it and working out what fits what and goes where. Interesting..........For me anyway
Off for a ride in the hills shortly to rub off some more "hero" bits. Better weather for it today.
PS: Didn't miss much with Lefty...............................Too bloody loud mate

Don't get between Lefty and his new Marshall amplifier otherwise our Dylan clone might steal the new love of your life away and it will be a reprise of "its all over now Baby Blue".

Re: Only one made it to Oakover
Thankyou to the couple of members who showed up. (Bozo, and Ange)
If you saw the double bass ensemble, I had already finished.
I was on the smaller stage, down by the lake. (Drop in sometime )
I will be back, on March 15th
Hey Swampy, I told you. if it's too loud, you're too old !

Take care, Lefty, of a backing group led by Brutus, particularly if they are carrying cutlery.bmwlefty wrote:

The Ides of March (15th) can be a dangerous time for those who wear purple or who entertain from a podium.
