Mid week ride - Perth to Kennedy Ranges and return???

Post by Digger »

G'Day Slackers,
I've gotta get some miles up to ensure my Final Drive is fixed before a bigger trip later this year. I'm planning on going to Gascoyne Junction / Kennedy Ranges leaving on or about Monday 20th April and returning on the Thursday (?) before ANZAC Day. Typically, it will be on good formed unsealed roads wherever possible and the itinerary will look something like this;
Perth, Mullewa, Murchison, Gascoyne Junction, Murchison, Yalgoo, Paynes Find, Beacon, Cleary, Perth.
If you are interested in tagging along then send me a PM, post here, or speak to me at the monthly meeting. The roads are big bike friendly depending on your level of experience. The roads will provide a good introduction to riding on unsealed roads providing you have dual sport tyres fitted as a minimum. Accommodation will be bush camping.
Steve

I know Tom has got the goods and creds for the trip Digger but keep in mind he is riding my old bike and it might shy away from the dirt?? :lol:

This makes more sense to me now...and no, there is nothing wrong with my charger.
This trip is a moving target and may change slightly. I have been contacted by another interested rider and may leave on the Sunday, not Monday and return Tuesday (2 nights). The destination may change also and will be dictated by the recent rains and road conditions. I'll keep this thread updated in case others are interested.

Hopefully they'll dry out a little if we decide to go that way...still have a week to go so anything can happen.

7 - 14 day forecast for the Gascoyne looks better than the Goldfields.

Your original plan has its nose in front atm Steve.

Reckon this is finally looking ready for action?
