A very elite group gathered at the Dome Coffee Shop in Vic Park to talk about riding across Australia.
Emus, Kangaroos, Camels and Wombats were part of the discussion about travelling the Great Central Road, the Old Eyre Highway, the 2016 OCR and dingos in tanks.
Around 9 am the group broke up but not before being verballed by two policemen in an unmarked car..one of whom looked vaguely familiar.
Wes, Swampy, Brian and Trish, German Paul and Bozo went on the last Sunday ride for 2015. German Paul was on his 2010 BMW K1300S generating a lazy 175 HP. German Paul is working on the principle that the bike you ride should have more than twice your age in horsepower.
We rode through Kewdale on a way to Brigadoon passing a stupid recumbent cyclist without an aerial and flag on a road regularly travelled by large trucks.
The ride up Campersic Road and through to O'Brien Road was remarkably free of traffic. On O'Brien Road Bozo and Paul passed an emu standing on the road but one sight of Swampy and Baby Blue and it vanished into the scrub. We deviated from Clenton Road to Copley Dale Road ending up in Berry Road before turning off into Reserve Road. Brian was worried about German Pauls K1300S overheating but it turned out that between 2010 and 2011 they swapped the fuel and temperature gauges so there was no problem. The Gidgy Bakery was shut so we headed down Roland Road to the Mundaring Bakery for a pie and a cold drink.
Heading home the heat hit us as we descended Greenmount.
Happy that the last Bozo ride for 2015 ended with no one being lost...thanks Swampy and Wes...and another Bakery added to the list of those visited in 2015.
Happy New Year.
