Attack of the crazy Chihuahua

Post by Bozo »

A laconic group at Catalano's barely looked up from their beverages as six riders crept away at 40 kph...the high vis Honda rider may have had something to do with the uniform compliance.

Kewdale Road was very scarcely populated and Kalamunda was at its slow Sunday best so all was going well until the sign "Slow Down Event Ahead" loomed large.

The ride on Mundaring Weir Road was tense with around a thousand cyclists, a couple of runners, mountain bikes trying to cross and event support vehicles adding to the chaos. A ute nearly clipped one of our party when trying to pass a group of single file riders that suddenly went to three abreast.

German Paul, Kim, David, Jens, Dinga and Bozo breathed a collective sigh of relief when the cyclists disappeared near the new Water Treatment Plant and we only had two utes that slowed down on the hills and accelerated when there were opportunities to pass.

Bozo's bike stalled at The Lakes and took a few cranks to catch...possibly some dud fuel or lycra lint in the air filter. Turing off the York Road at Yarra Road we were confronted with a detour sign so continued on to Cut Hill Road before reaching Beverley via Qualen West Road. Dinga received a cocky whiteout when a tree full of Corellas descended on his bike. Kim had just shown the group parrot damage to his 1600 but Dinga's bullet proof K bike survived without a scratch possible due to him feathering the brakes.

A brief stop for a drink in Beverley before taking the Top Road to York and to Bakers Hill via Spencers Brook.

Bozo had settled down to a steak pie when he saw an aluminium chair heading towards his bike at speed. A psycho Chihuahua had been tied to the chair by its owners but found it to be little restraint as it and the chair hurtled towards a bemused sheep dog that the Chihuahua was intent on meeting. There was an almighty crash and the chair and dog were stopped in their tracks as the chair hit Bozo's 1200 GSA. Fortunately the impact was on the crash bar and only removed a few flecks of black paint.

Great to be out on a relatively cool day. Who knew a Chihuahua could damage a 1200 GSA, particularly with a flying aluminium chair?

Sounds like a crazy day was had by all Bozo, But you must admit you are now a bit of a bike and dog magnet? May be an "Old Man" thing Chris?

Sounds like Kim is the one who was the "Chick Magnet" in the group closely followed by Dinga who is now busy fighting the Birds off now that he has re-merged from under the Doona's after his conspicous absence of the last couple of weeks

Sounds like Kim needs to trade in his "OLD" bike on a new one, Quickly?............First a Flat Battery and now bird Damage which is ALSO probably devaluating the price of his house when he parks in his drive...........What Next?? ......Won't be worth much as a trade in if he doesn't act now!!

Makes me grateful that I couldn't join the ride as I was at a Good Samaritans house in Coogee having my Driving lights short circuit repaired by a Club Member En "LIGHT" ened Electrical Engineer who did a great job, was good company who also makes an impressive cup of coffee. Many Thanks. 8)
