Riding with the Rollers

Post by Bozo »

What a difference a week makes....over triple the number of bikes at the Sunday Breakfast.

BillB, Dave, Koos and Bozo headed through the Bickley Valley and past Mundaring Weir to the Mundaring Weir Hotel.

We almost terminated the ride there with a lamb on a spit and roaring wood fires we could have easily settled in for the day. Came across a 1200 rat bike with a skull under the headlight whose owner seemed to have had as hard a life as the bike.

Lots of gravel and leaf litter across parts of the road but all of the crew made it through Mundaring and Mount Helena to the Bakery at Gidgiegannup. A coffee and a pie warmed us up before we headed down Reserve Road to link up with Berry, Clenton and O'Brien Roads. Travelling down Lancewood Road we came across over 20 Rolls Royces heading to the Rolls Royce Club of WA Christmas In July event.

The Rollers were having more difficulty in negotiating the slow points than the quartet on their motorcycles.

The ride ended at the Bells Rapids lookout when the group split up.

Hardly any rain, only a few hardy cyclists and not much traffic to impede our enjoyment of the twisting roads through the hills.

Mundaring Weir Hotel looks like an excellent venue for club events.

Thanks to Koos for riding Tail End Charlie.

Thank you Bozo

Pleasant ride and a perfect window of opportunity between rain fronts.

Always good pointing a wheel down a road....with pleasant company.
