Australia Day Ride 2017

Post by Cookie »

Last year went well, so we will try again,

Destination - Mary Street Lagoon also known as Kingsley Fairbridge reserve, off Fairbridge, Mandurah.

Park has toilets, BBQ's and several shady trees, plenty of area for parking Motorcycles.

Meet at Caltex Byford, corner of Nettleton Road and Southwest Highway at 10.15 for a 10.30am departure, Thursday 26th January.

Idea being ride down lesser roads ~2hours, arrive in time for a picnic lunch (BYO everything), enjoy some fellowship before heading back via minor roads mid afternoon.

Hi Cookie. I'm going to make an effort to be a starter on this one, and raise the profile of the "airheads"

Four hearty souls (Cookie, Brian/5, Nik and Pete) braved the heat, Brian offered to take the lead, I went tailed charlie to ride via the hills and across to Halls Head, upon arriving we found a message from John W - he had been waiting at Del Park instead of Nettleton Road, and missed us. Hermann and Monique had done a great job of setting up in the park, shady tree, sun shade, chairs, espies and BBQ :)

Bill and Trish arrived at the park shortly after our group and we settled into refreshments and nibbles, fellowship and conversations a plenty.

Headed home via various routes mid afternoon with the temp showing 43.5 most of the way back.

A great day out, Pete was a prospective member on a distinctive and smart looking R1100s, Nik was on his 750GSX and not enjoying the heat..

Thank you to all
