Good numbers at Cat's this morning for brekkie. We welcomed a new member Graham into our midst and it looks like he may become a stayer.
Goldie rocked up from Rockingham on his lovely Blue Streak of BMW and Kot's raced in on his new RnineT Racer.
Must say it didn't seem to suit him as well it would me but you can't have everything can you?

BJ offered me a ride on his beautiful Project bike which I declined as I may not have returned it!! ..But thanks for the offer BJ

Bilby led a group of around 10 riders up Lesmurdie Hill and along Mundaring Weir Road to Gt Eastern Hwy.
I followed them as far as the Lakes turn off before peeling off to return home after enjoying an old mans comfort break at the new servo. Is it a BeePee station?

During my return trip thru too Mundaring the highway was packed with a continous stream of motorbikes heading out of Perth to York so I was quietly pleased I was returning home as I'm not fond of big crowds and roads crammed with bikers doing there own thing.........Some are idiots when they are out riding with their mates and it's best to avoid them if you possibly can

Rtd home along the scarp and via Canning dam on a beautiful day for riding.

Bill took us down some back roads to York which in addition to being great riding roads also provided the bonus of avoiding the mass of motorcycles that headed out along The Great Eastern Highway.

Dinga' s PD succumbed to a front wheel flat just before York (Peter H) Dinga's usual road side assistance was not there so the rest rustled up an air pump and Dinga limped into York and set about trying to patch his front tube.

Fortunately Nick B another member turned up some tyre levers and Bruno a truck driver from Brazil who is doing some work for a local farmer happened to be on hand to provide soap, and compressed air necessary to shift the tyre and reseat the bead. A patch was quickly applied and Dinga was on his way again.

Big thanks to Bruno for his help, a top bloke who also happens to be a BMW Club member back in Brazil where he owns an F800GS.

Any time you're in Perth look us up Bruno and we'll find you a bike to ride.

Today's Club breakfast and ride to York was great. Keeping an eye on the Where's Wally / Trainspotters spot tracker it was determined they'd be doing the dirt and it would be unlikely that we'd catch up with them on the road. After some discussion Bill and I headed off to Bakers Hill Pie Shop. It may have been that the Trainspotters were close to York but there was little certainty.

After being routed along a gravel road we got to the Bakers Hill Pie Shop. There were two types of folks there. The peddlers and the others. All the peddlers were there from at least 20k away. They were skinny and resting or recharging. The rest of us were just recharging and impressed. Our bikes were a bit dusty and we did manage to impress at least one granny! We finished our tucker then headed down Great Eastern Highway.

Coming down the hill through Greenmount the traffic slowed. Bellevue saw it come to a stand still. There may have been some lane splitting which resulted in us getting on to Roe Highway. It was an over width, over height escorted vehicle that was slowing all the traffic for miles. It was right in the middle of the highway. I took the first opportunity to turn and head the other way. This was in the direction of my folks. A cup of tea with the folks and a pressure clean for the bike were now on the agenda.

As I rode past Bill, I waved and signalled the road was blocked, but I don't think he knew why I was waiving my hand round.

I eventually turned off West Swan Road on to Benara Road. As I did I noticed a car coming out of the Seven Eleven. Cars were coming towards me on Benara Road, and there was only about 40m between the cars heading my way. Then the car at the servo entered the space between us. Everyone except the car leaving the servo braked heavily. Miraculously, no collision. Then equally miraculously the person from the servo started blasting her horn and abusing every one around her. Unbelievable!

Nothing to say from me. Just don't crash or get whacked from someone else.

Got to the folks and the servo drama was quickly forgotten. The important business of getting the tea and biscuits ordered, organised and devoured went like clockwork. Chatting to the folks is always priceless.

In 15 minutes the bike pressure clean, towel down and droplet blow off quickly removed the remnants from the gravel ride as well as the 1200km Easter ride. The bike was looking brand new. Not only brand new, but clean brand new! Job done.

Off home. My phone was in a pocket I don't usually carry it in. I pulled over, stopped and changed the phone to my preferred pocket. As I looked up to check the road before indicating and moving I watched a car fail to take the corner I would otherwise would've been stopped at. It came across the exact place I would have been stopped at before turning out to the main road.

I watched and realised just how lucky I was. I stayed calm and did not say anything. I just rode home. Watching, riding and watching.

Geez the new bike is good.

Aww Swampster....almost made me tear up for a bit there....

I do miss the friendship, the regularity of riding, the banter, the variety of riders and always someone up for a ride.

ive been lurking on the forum and am glad to see so many rides happening and you guys getting out and about
Easter saw me driving not riding to Brisbane on the way back on the Monday I dropped in to see Paul Rooney ,stayed to long talking and admiring his garage .Ill do a rr for guy featuring Paul
finally today after the dawn service got on the bike and got lost for a couple of hours out the back of my digs Bowen mountain,Kurrjong and up Bells Fall to Bilipin very nice living on the door step

I envy you the fantastic roads you are riding out there in the Blue Mountains Jamie and I'm glad you are able to get out and enjoy them!!

Starting to get cold now I guess but put the Snowies on your list to do mate, They are fantastic

Also watch out for Bozo who's lurking around over there somewhere at the moment?? Maybe check out the local Bakeries?
