Lane Position When Riding In Pairs – Reverse Stagger?

Found this article and video on Bestrest Products web site. Its a little bit long winded but worth the read and then watch the video.
Bear in mind that this is an American site and they ride on the opposite side of road to us, so there right would be our left.

Hopefully this will also highlight the importance of staggering when riding in groups as having been nominated to tailend Charlie on quite a few ride have noticed the haphazard riding of some fellow riders. Yep we all want to get home safety so lets put the odds on our side.

This makes perfectly good sense, It is clear that for our roads the lead rider should sit to the left giving the second rider a clear view of oncoming traffic.

Spacing is very important also as we are all guilty of crowding each other at some point or the other. Keep a safe distance to be able to react in an emergency in a safe manner.

We should adopt this as a matter of course and take care of each other as a group.

When there is the threat of kangaroos and other wildlife all riders should be as close to the middle of the road as possible to give time to react.

This particularly applies to emu territory where emus can walk in one direction and look in another, Swampy.
