Beverley Dirt Drags are on again, Saturday 2nd June, racing starts at lunchtime and runs until late afternoon.
I will be heading out there to watch my mates F350 burn fossil fuel and make lots of noise.
If there is enough interest, I can lead ride out.

Re: Beverley Dirt Drags 2nd June
Nev, Bozo and a Knight joined Cookie and had a lovely day out in the burbs, the ride on mowers were fun to watch, V8 dragsters were running well in the crisp air and providing fine tuned music to the ears.

Re: Beverley Dirt Drags 2nd June
A big thank you to Cookie for putting together a fine excuse to jump on the bikes for a VERY pleasant day ride to the Beverley Tractor Pull and Lawn Mower Racing event.
Weather was a fraction cooler than expected, but sunny and clear. Winter has crept up on us this year, late for sure, but here all the same.
The Fab Four enjoyed full undercover parking and onsite security.

Awesome having a not-so-awesome moment... Bummer knowing that somewhere in there were a couple of thousand horsepower waiting to get out, but not being able to find the key to the gate to let 'em out.

But there was MuddaChukka and other roaring thunder tractors ready for a great pull.

In fact, we witnessed two of these guys having a full pull. Another had been pulling for three years. Noddy just got down and dirty, relying on non-wheel-spinning monster grunt. Not the most successful pull, but great audio...
Brendon's F350 spun up the track with a partial pull. Again the audio has a petrol heads nirvana
But the most fun of the day would have to be the 'lawn mower racing'. How could a 4-cylinder Honda-engined ride-on lawn mower not get your adrenaline going. This thing literally shoveled dirt into the air, mountains of dirt... I take my hat off to those poor buggers on lesser single cylinder thumpers trying to get close enough to action a mid-corner passing manoeuvre... It must be noted that petrol in the fuel tank overcomes horsepower every single time
The ride home was heralded with warnings of caution and danger. I was a little sceptical.
However, heading directly into the sun on narrow single track bitumen roads with 2 metre high plus shrubbery up to the roadside, with a large volume of traffic heading TO Beverley, many on the wrong side of the road was a little harrowing to say the least...
And Bozo reportedly left half an hour after we did. Errrrrk...
And that half-wit who overtook a couple of bicycles in the middle of a sharp 90 degree turn, whilst Cookie was also mid-corner, well what can I say...
Brilliant piece of riding mate, to stay upright. If you were in the car, it could have been a very different and messy outcome... This was another fine example of good motorcycle riding and motorcycle safety in action.

For the record, there are another couple of Tractor Pull and Lawn Mower Racing events scheduled this year around WA. Love to see Awesome performing in anger
