Re: An Actual Thursday Ride
Yes it did happen on a Thursday with a balmy high of 27.5 degrees C. Perfect for a spin into them there hills. Wes, Steve, Brian, Noel, Steve B, Chris, Vic and Peter met at the Dome Mundaring for coffees and snacks, before blasting off, OK sedately motoring off to our lunch destination at the Toodyay Bakery (apologies to the absent Swampy Coca Cola Kid).
As the normal discussion of where/how are we getting there resulted in “We don’t care we’ll just follow you” I lead off like I was going on my own ride but seven Beemers followed me!
The quiet backroads of Mundaring and Parkerville soon had us onto Toodyay Rd for a short moment before we hit O’Brien/Berry then Reserve Rd to get back to Toodyay Rd then Mayo Rd to Government Rd. Onto the Great Eastern H and turn at the Lakes. The Great Southern H led us quickly to Yarra Rd and the magic Toodyay West Rd and still the seven Beemers were still following me! Our first stop was at York for some to refuel and some to release excess fluids.
We were soon hitting the road again headings towards Northam when a GS with a slim pillion blasted pass all of us. Some recognised the pair, obviously on a mission and our sedate pace was not going to stand in their way. We passed through the Northam industrial area and via the very scenic Katrina Rd headed towards Toodyay.
For something different we went to the Toodyay Bakery and had lunch on the balcony with perfect weather and no flies. The troubles of the world and all motorcycle issues were quietly discussed and resolved over pies, sandwiches, coffees and fruit juice, very relaxing.
Julimar Road was the choice to return to civilisation so we set off at a sedate pace. Again a BMW went blasting past, looked like a K1300 from the exhaust. I said to Noel later our sedate pace, roughly on the speed limit was obviously too slow. But at least we saw the great scenery. The Chittering Valley was looking superb and soon we hit the car park at Bullsbrook to say goodbye and find our own way home.
Thanks to all that attended and the various TEC’s.
Another great fine weather Thursday Ride in our beautiful countryside.

Re: An Actual Thursday Ride
Sounds like you had a fantastic day with a great group of willing participants Pete, Shame about the CC Cafe though
Very busy day today helping my son and his wife move house. The Isuzu Ute comes in very handy at these times
Glad you all managed to blow out some cobwebs and keep the oil circulating!!

Of rugged mountain ranges, of droughts and flooding rains.
I love her far horizons, I love her jeweled sea.
Her beauty and her terror, the wide brown land for me."
