Last Sunday Ride for 2018

Post by Bozo »

Dome was the forced refuge for the lost and aimless members of the BMW Motorcycle Club. The venue was shared with customised Kwackas and thumping great Triumphs.

Schmick Vic brought along a sharp looking K1200S tribute bike that looked like it had just rolled off the showroom floor. DFS (Dave the Flying Santa) arrived on a Christmas coloured 100 GS PD that he had just acquired from Gren with Bowe, Guy and Alex also bringing airheads.

Seven souls including seventy something Swampy surmounted the seasonal schedule to slip suspiciously away to a salubrious cyclist clashing circuit. So suspicious was the group that we were watched by drones disguised as wedge tailed eagles at Swayers Valley and tailed by police on the Southern Highway.

Cyclists were everywhere through the hills and Ted, German Paul, DFS, Stoy, Steve, Bozo and Swampy cautiously made their metre plus passes through peletons two and three wide.

The route was up to Lesmurdie then down Glen Isla Road to Mundaring Weir Road before a break at the Lakes.

A magificent run on Talbot West Road was followed by a traffic free ride on Qualen West Road and Cut Hill Road to get to York. The busy town was traversed and Spencers Brook Road had us at Bakers Hill for the mandatory pie. DFS' bike and others attracted interest from bakery clients and eventually we headed back to Perth.

A great run to end out the year.

Thanks to Swampy for his tail end Charlie duties and to the group for good compnay.

Thank You Bozo for your outstanding contribution to the club over the last 12 months!! I think I speak for everyone in the club for when I say congratulations on organising and leading so many varied and interesting rides.

A great achievement for someone who also found time to travel many thousands of solo kilometers intrastate and interstate and along the way entertaining us with your many photographs and educational tit bits!!

Well Done Mate 8)

I guess apart from 8 weeks trying to stay warm and dry in front of a blazing log fire down South this last Winter I managed to reasonably successfully follow your lead albeit from way back in the rear and only seemed to misplace myself when following others on Thursday rides?? Strange That

To all the people who have joined Bozo's Sunday Sojourns and Swampy's sometimes on a Thursday ride over the last year, Thank you so much for your company and good humour and I am looking forward to many more shared rides in the future.

You people are the real back bone of the club and contribute immensely to the ongoing success which makes this particular club a real pleasure to be part of!!

I wish you all a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year, now roll on 2019.

Best Wishes

Swampy
