Tuesday forecast for sunny and 25, and with the rest of the week looking dreadful, I thought a nice relaxing ride to Toodyay for something different. Ha. I followed the same route we did two days ago on Sunday at a nice relaxing pace, taking in the sights and smells of a lovely winter's day in the countryside.
Lefty wrote on Facebook several days ago about those "perfect days" and how hard they are to describe, and today was one of them, sublime in almost every way. Calm, cool smooth air, no turbulence and gliding perfectly through the fields and hills and valleys, the motor ticking over nicely and a feeling of peaceful relaxation. I could have gone on forever and I didn't want it to end. And it was only 11:00am. Lunch was a goat curry pie (!) at Toodyay Bakery. Not bad, worth a try, but I think it's steak and mushroom next time.
The rest of the day was just as good, dropping back into Perth about 3-ish, 7 hours later. A good day out.

"I love a sunburnt country, a land of sweeping plains.
Of rugged mountain ranges, of droughts and flooding rains.
I love her far horizons, I love her jeweled sea.
Her beauty and her terror, the wide brown land for me."

I guess you are right Swampy. Its not a bad place to live either. Many different roads to and from.
Most problems can be solved with a suitable application of throttle!
